| Coach Jose Ramos is no stranger to the South Florida basketball community. As a player, Coach Ramos attended Miami Senior High where, as an All-American Gatorade Player of the Year, he was inducted into the prestigious Miami Senior High Hall of Fame. Coach Ramos followed up his stellar high school career by playing for the University of Florida and the University of Nebraska, guiding both teams to the NCAA Tournament. As a professional player, Coach Ramos' career took him throughout Europe and South America, allowing him to perfect his game and strengthen his skills.
Coach Ramos started his coaching career at Florida International University where he recruited, mentored and developed such NBA players as Raja Bell of the Utah Jazz and Carlos Arroyo of the Boston Celtics. With 16 years of developing top-tier basketball players under his belt, Coach Ramos realized that there was a lack of fundamentals and skill development being taught, and so Ramos Hoops Academy was born.
Coach Ramos' Hoops Academy, the first of its kind, is focused on all facets of the game with a strong emphasis on teaching basketball fundamentals and skill development. The academy teaches children from ages five to 17 and holds clinics every week as well providing individual and semi-private training sessions.
